Fête de la Musique

So every year on the first day of spring, nearly every city/village across France celebrates the Fete de la Musique, the Music Festival. Streets and town centers were turned into venues for bands and djs to perform. People crowded the streets and the events didn't stop until 3am (which is early by french party standards).

Johanna, Fernando, Me, Hannes

As I was living with Johanna at that time, it was a simple walk down the street in Antibes to enjoy the festivities - and for that reason only did I succumb to Johanna's goal to getting me a little drunk for the evening (I was always the Designated Driver - so this was a rare occassion).

And as a result, I did get a little "off-my-knocker" as is evident by the pictures below.

Oh yes I did... I danced with a street performer...

And not for just a little while, for the ENTIRE song... and yes, with an entire circle of people around us...

I look like such a dork. The poor guy must have been so irritated with me, I don't think he made any money during that time...

Anyhow, *I* obviously had a great time.

And, of course, to end the night properly... we went swimming in the mediterranean... *those* pictures will not be displayed on the web though. :-)
