A short trip to Germany

Everything you heard is true...

they really do have Beer Gardens in Germany!

They have traditional gardens there too...

Flo and our host, Mario.

We're at a fake beach in the middle of an industrial park on a canal. It was a little odd, but the sand felt nice in your feet.

A small German breakfast...

Somebody's family member made some marmalade, I'm not sure what flavor it was. It was good. The only type of marmalade I see in the states is always Orange Marmalade... and the consistentancy was a little different, as you can see.

A funny (and non-traditionally German, as I was informed by our host) way of making coffee...

Dusseldorf:
We had a really good dinner here... Asparagus Soup, followed by Asparagus with Hollandaise Sauce, Potatoes, and Ham. I loved it. I was informed over this dinner that all Asparagus in Germany is white. Mario had never seen green asparagus before coming to the US.

And, I couldn't resist, T-Mobile in Germany...

Did you know it is a company from Germany? I didn't know.

Easter

After a night of heavy partying at the Moulin Rouge, we awoke early to head to the Miniature Model convention-- a favorite past time of Jilbear (Flo's dad). A few interesting things to note:

A rather large demonstration of the wonders of Lego. I lacked the genious and the money to ever build something like this. Please note that this pictures was taken specifically for Ted.

Even their miniature sunbathers are naked! Although, this can barely be seen in this picture. I'm sure you can use your imagination. :-p

They had miniature "monster" trucks racing and making jumps outside:

I didn't get to take pictures of the two women that were "modeling" throughout this demonstration. It was quite humerous. Can you imagine what these people had to do to talk these women into walking around half-naked at a miniature model convention?

Me and the Jilbear...

And finally, devouring the chocolate easter bunny. I'd just like to point out that this one is Lindt dark chocolate...

For those of you in France, I'm sure you don't appreciate the significance of this-- but this is something rare in the US... having a high quality easter bunny out of Dark Chocolate...

and in case you were wondering, it was very tasty.

Le Moulin-Rouge

The One and Only:

Is it just like the movie? Not really. Nicole Kidman and Ewen McGregor were nowhere to be found, nor were the songs the same oddly covered ones from the movie. Yeah yeah, I know, I wasn't honestly expecting any of that. What was remarkably similar to the movie, though, was the strange lack of cohesiveness throughout the show. Remember Ewen McGregor writing the story for the Moulin Rouge, how it seemed to be thrown together at the last second... yeah, that's how it was. Nonetheless, the show was still quite interesting and dazzling for that hour and a half that we had.

No Pictures Inside Please!

I found myself wondering how they decided which girls would be topless and when. As well as, why aren't any of the guys taking their clothes off?

It still has the old wind mill on top of it. I'm not really sure why that is there. Although, this last trip to Paris, I did discover that there were a few windmills in this surrounding area. One of which had some traitors tied to it and on display after their bloody revolution.

Many thanks to Flo's dad for taking us to this delightful place.
