Gourdon

Another small village situated on the top of a mountain. This place is considered by some committee to be one of the most beautiful villages in France.



I think the population of this village is only around 50 people. And though it is nice, I can't quite figure out why people live there. For sure, this is a destination for many tourist that come into the area that want to get away from the big city of Nice. This is the place you take people to make them think you found some secret charming village that you just happened to stumble upon - the truth is, everybody in the area knows this place... and everbody brings their visiting friends and family here to see the smaller side of France.




There is a jumpspot for paragliders nearby, so on windy days you might see one floating around the sky. On clear days, you can see the sea from here.


Whereas the previous village had narrow roads with two-way traffic, this little village is closed to all traffic except for the few that actually live here. I found this little restaurant really cute with the way the placed the tables going up a hill.
