Torla - Alquézar

Torla

This is where the excitement begins. We went on a 25 kilometer hike in the Pyrenee Mountains, more specifically we went to
Parque National de Ordesa y Monte Perdido (that's a mouthful!). You can be guaranteed that I was the slowest one there. Flo and his friends are far more athletic than I'll ever be. I was in much much pain by the end of this hike. It took 7 hours for me to do. The last two hours were spent walking a zig-zag down the side of the mountain. It got to the point where we weren't even talking to each other any more.

I complained a lot at the end...but honestly, it was quite beautiful and I'm happy that I got to do something like this.

This is where we stopped to have lunch on our way to Torla...

... I thought the wind turbines were pretty neat. We don't have very many of those in the South-East. Actually, I'm not aware of any in Georgia.

Do you see how he just hangs all over other women?!?! He's shameless...he doesn't even wait to do it behind my back.

Honestly, I think they're crazy. That water was insanely cold. I refused to go inside. It looked so nice but it felt like death when you put your hand in the water.

Some nice scenic shots:

In our Hostel:

These girls know the evil they were up to! I won't dare post that on the internet. :-P

Alquézar

I think everybody agreed that this was the coolest place we stayed at during our entire trip to Spain. Nobody wanted to leave. This is where we went canyoning. I didn't know exactly what that was before I went. I didn't know how long it would take or what to expect.

So canyoning... we took a forty-five minute hike down to the canyon. We put on our wetsuits and jumped into the water. For the next 4-5 hours, we swam through the water and jumped off huge rocks.

At this point, you probably realize that I'm a huge wimp. The first jump we made was only 3-4 meters (9-12 feet)...and I really didn't want to do it. I was the last one to jump. Finally, by the end of the whole thing, I was getting used to it.

This is where our canyoning trip concluded. This was about a 10 meter jump. Again, I emphasize that Flo and his friends are crazy.

I'm working on getting the waterproof disposable camera developed...

In our hostel:

The room wasn't bad. A few people took the mattresses and slept on the porch at night. Damn hippies.

Yay, lunch time!

This was a place we stopped at on our way to Torla...

Can you see there excitement! They're "catching" berries...seriously, they look like they are about to pounce on them. Mmmm...they were tasty too.

Despite their many efforts to try to kill me on this part of the trip, I somehow managed to survive...

She just forget to say something !
We took her bah... And, she forget to take off her school books, so I had I don't know how many extra pounds (kilos) to carry during those 7 or 8 hours... and even with this, I was faster... no offense !

There was *one* book...and it wasn't for school! All the other stuff was informational packets from all the places we had already been... and I offered to carry the damn bag! Much offense taken! :-)
